The estate of "Lilliano" was started in
the XIth century as a tower but more exact news about it were found in the XVth
century. In this period it belonged to the Giannelli family and afterwards to
other various families up to 1646 when it was bought by the Granduca Ferdinando
II to enlarge his property of Lappeggi. From now on it will be used as the farmer
house and for agricoltural purposes. It was in this very period thet the building
took the present shape and was orned with fountains, lemon pots etc. In 1667 Lilliano was given together with the Lappeggi Villa, by the Granduca Cosimo III to his brother the Cardinal Francesco Maria de' Medici, who restored the estate again with the Arch. Ferri and the inside of the house was completely decorated.
